A Beach Home Reimagined
Functional & Serene
When the homeowners first imagined refreshing their mid-2000s beach house, the kitchen was the room they dreamed about most. It was where everyone naturally gathered and they wanted a space that was ready for the way they live today. So we began by rethinking the layout from the ground up. With a custom cabinetry layout designed specifically for their needs and state-of-the-art appliances, the new kitchen instantly became a place where two people can comfortably cook side-by-side without bumping elbows. At the center of it all sits the oversize island—now the anchor of the kitchen. Not only does it offer an expansive workspace, but it also hides storage solutions and refrigerator drawers. Whether the homeowners are prepping dinner or hosting a casual gathering, the island brings everyone together. To echo the beauty of the nearby Santa Rosa Sound, we chose a backsplash in soft coastal tones, bringing the colors of the water directly into the home. The dining area was relocated with a built-in corner seating area that creates a seamless flow from kitchen to living spaces. The living room also got a refresh with a new modern fireplace wall after removing the old, dated TV cavity—instantly giving the space a clean, updated feel. This kitchen has been truly reimagined as the heart of this coastal home.
