Designer By Your Side: How It Works & What to Expect

Designer By Your Side: How It Works & What to Expect

You have a contractor and ideas for your next remodel. But now, your contractor is asking for your material selections, including the type of tile you will use, the countertop stone and dimensions, even the color of the grout… and you have no idea!

Where do you go to find all these materials? How do you stay on budget? What’s going to stay in style long-term? How do you make choices that will reflect your personal taste and create a beautiful and functional room?  How can you make all these ideas you have fit together?

If you are completely overwhelmed with design choices and want to make the best decisions for style, quality, and budget, then our Designer By Your Side service might be perfect for you…

Who is it for?

If you are…

  • Building a new home

  • Remodeling your kitchen or bathroom

  • Updating your kitchen or bathroom

  • Need to make materials selections to get accurate quotes from your builder

  • Already have a builder requesting your selections

  • Maybe you are asking yourself, “I am keeping the flooring, so how do I update the cabinets and countertops to make the room look planned and cohesive, not patched up?”

  • You may be starting one of the above projects and wondering where to begin. What should you choose first? (Cabinets, countertops, lighting, tile, and layout?)

  • Or maybe you know that renovating is a big investment, and you want to make sure you do everything right the first time. (See here for biggest regrets of DIYers — mis-budgeting the project is at the top of the list!)

If any of the above sounds like your situation, Designer By Your Side is for you.

Each of these projects requires you to choose plumbing fixtures, lighting, tile, countertops, and more. You may also need to look at the layout of your space to make it more functional. Having a designer literally “by your side” as a guide is the surest way to streamline the process and pave the way toward success.

How does Designer By Your Side Work?

Whether you need help pulling one space or project together or you would prefer assistance over a longer-term custom project, we’ll come in with a fresh eye and help you achieve a beautiful, finished look that’s distinctly you.

Our Designer By Your Side service includes:

  • Guidance for kitchen and bath design

  • Recommendations for sourcing and selection of finishes and fixtures

  • Specifying paint colors

  • In-person and phone conversations, texts, and emails to guide you through your project

  • On-site appointments and walk-throughs for Pensacola and surrounding areas. Virtual meetings in other locations — let’s talk, it can be done!

The details

The package includes 15 hours to be purchased and used as your needs and project progress.  You can use this time for phone calls, consultations, or sourcing recommendations.

Once you have purchased the 15 hours, you have 90 days to use them. Designers log their time in one-hour increments for office time. On-site visits are in a minimum of 3-hour increments.

With our expertise and knowledge, you can feel confident knowing that you have us by your side to offer solid advice, answer questions relating to the design aspects of your project, and help you avoid expensive mistakes.

If you need more assistance, you can replenish your time by purchasing another 15-hour block, as needed. We’re here and available for as long as you need us.

What are the results?

I recently worked with a Gulf Breeze homeowner who was renovating her kitchen.  She had lots of ideas about what she liked but wanted some assistance putting the whole package together.

We worked with her ideas for the cabinets and countertops and designed a backsplash for the kitchen and adjoining beverage area. When she located cabinet hardware that she liked, we looked at it together (virtually) before purchasing to decide the size and scale.

Together, we made all the important decisions, and she was ready for her contractor ahead of schedule. In fact, she was so prepared for the subcontractors that she was actually able to enjoy the renovation. (Which is extremely rare for most people!) She didn’t have to stress about making decisions “on the fly” as each phase arrived. That’s the value of planning ahead!

Here’s why she chose Designer By Your Side:

“I loved the hunt for the materials but wanted to have another experienced partner to help me with the final details.”

Working with us, we confirmed her choices or made suggestions that she hadn’t considered helped her a great deal. She was able to feel confident in her design choices — choices that she will use and live with daily for years to come.

Stay tuned for photos of her kitchen… Cabinets and countertops are on the docket for installation this week!

If Designer By Your Side sounds like exactly what you have been needing for your kitchen or bathroom remodel, we’d love to chat with you. Book a complimentary call with us and let’s get to know each other.

Warmly,
Sarah
